Some of the trails in Bent Creek near Asheville would be accessible. The Roan Mountain Gardens trail is accessible too, if you want a mountaintop loop. I also know of one trail at South Mountains State Park that would be good. I'm planning on putting together a section about accessible trails soon - hopefully sooner than later!

hi Carol-- I'm not sure where you are but Moses Cone area of the Blue Ridge Parkway near Blowing Rock has a network of carriage trails that might be ideal for you and your husband. i think you can reach it on US 321 or the blue ridge parkway. it is fine gravel if I'm not mistaken but packed well ( i believe). They used to have a visitors center so you can probably give them a call....good luck.

My husband is now wheel chair obnly mobility. He has a great front wheel drive like power chair and it clims a number of areas but I would like to know if you have some trails that you would recommend we take for short (1-2 hour) trips where he too can enjoy the outdoors. Appreciate any help or direction, Carol
